Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to StayValid. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the StayValid application and related services. By creating an account or using StayValid, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use StayValid. By using the service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself or the entity you represent.

3. Account Responsibilities

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password and account credentials.
• You may not create more than one account per person.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. The Service

StayValid is an expiry tracking application that helps you manage expiry dates for documents, insurance policies, subscriptions, warranties, and licenses. The service includes:

• Creating and managing expiry date records
• Email and push notification reminders before items expire
• Sharing expiry information with others via secure links
• A Peace of Mind score based on your expiry data

Important: StayValid reminders are provided as a convenience and are not legally binding. We do not guarantee that reminders will be delivered on time or at all. You remain solely responsible for tracking your own expiry dates and taking action before they lapse.

5. Free and Paid Plans

• The Free plan allows up to 7 active expiry records with email reminders.
• The Pro plan unlocks unlimited expiries, push notifications, and additional features.
• Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly via Stripe.
• Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled.
• Prices may change with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price increase takes effect.

6. Cancellation & Refunds

• You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal.
• After cancellation, you retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period.
• We do not offer partial refunds for unused portions of a billing period.
• If you delete your account, your subscription is canceled and no further charges will be made.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Abuse, harass, or harm other users
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the service without our permission
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or overload the service or its infrastructure
• Upload or store illegal, harmful, or infringing content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data

8. Intellectual Property

StayValid and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by StayValid and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the service without our prior written consent.

You retain full ownership of the data you enter into StayValid. We do not claim any rights over your expiry records, notes, or other personal content.

9. Shared Content

When you share expiry information via StayValid's sharing feature, you are responsible for the content you share and the people you share it with. Sharing links can be revoked at any time. We are not responsible for how recipients use the information you share with them.

10. Disclaimers

• StayValid is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
• The service is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, or compliance advice.
• We do not guarantee that reminders will prevent expiry lapses or that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
• We make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of any information provided through the service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StayValid and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the amount you paid to StayValid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

12. Termination

• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to the service or other users.
• You may delete your account at any time from the application settings, which permanently removes all your data.
• Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately, except that provisions regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law will survive.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of StayValid after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
